Biography
Mohammad received his BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran. In August 2015, Mohammad joined the ME program at Temple University as a PhD student and graduated with a Doctorate in ME in May 2018. After graduation, Dr. Sahlabadi worked as a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at California Polytechnic State University (July 2018-June 2019) before joining Surgical Innovations (SI) as a Postdoctoral Scholar in July 2019. Dr. Sahlabadi was promoted to rank 2 Specialist (Lead R & D Engineer) in December 2019.
Dr. Sahlabadi's research focuses on the design and development of novel medical devices. As the lead engineer at SI, his duties include: designing and conducting research protocols; writing proposals, academic publications and grant applications; supporting technical development of novel medical devices; providing technical and engineering support to surgeons at UCSF; mentoring and supervising early-career engineers at SI; project management and evaluating the progress of ongoing projects.
