    Biography

    Isabelle Chumfong, M.D. M.Eng. is a resident in the Department of Surgery and is currently spending two years as a Surgical Innovations research fellow. Dr. Chumfong has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (2003) and an M.Eng. in Engineering and Management (2004) from Yale University. She received her M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011. At the start of her research years, Dr. Chumfong worked as a medical fellow at IDEO, a global design and innovation firm. She is currently working on the development of a device to prevent pressure ulcers and a novel laparoscopic surgical grasper.
