Summer Internships

Medical Device Engineer

The engineer will have responsibilities on multiple device development projects. Specific tasks include generating design concepts and engineering drawings, building device prototypes for testing and evaluation, conducting bench-top, animal, and clinical testing of devices, market research, project coordination, etc. Candidates must be able to multitask and work in a collaborative team environment. 

We currently do not have any opportunities available.

Biodevice Innovation Fellow 

The one or two year research positions are open to surgical residents and trainees from accredited residency programs nationwide. See our Innovation Pathway page for more information.

    • Personal Statement: A 1-2 page statement on your background, research interests as they relate to the Biodevice Innovation Pathway, and future career goals. If you would like to work on a specific research project, indicate which one and explain.

Surgical innovations has ongoing openings for clinical and engineering trainees at all levels interested in medical device innovation and development. Working in multidisciplinary teams, trainees will participate in device design; user needs validation; benchtop, preclinical and clinical studies; data analysis; and more.
